Things are looking up for newly minted bachelor billionaire, ex- Los Angeles Dodgers owner and former Boston parking lot magnate Frank McCourt

According to the Wall Street Journal, Frank McCourt, the former owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, paid $50 million for an 18-room co-op on Fifth Avenue, according to property records filed on Thursday. The price was one of the highest ever paid for a Manhattan co-op.
In March Mr. McCourt sold the Dodgers and land near Dodger Stadium for $2.15 billion in an auction in bankruptcy court. He purchased the co-op at 944 Fifth Ave. a few weeks ago from David Hamamoto, the head of NorthStar Realty Finance, a publicly traded real-estate investment trust based in New York, property records show. The listing, by John Burger of Brown Harris Stevens, said the apartment near East 75th Street had 70-feet facing Central Park including a 27-foot living room with three picture windows. A separate guest apartment was also included.
